Efficiency Meets Style: The 2024 Ford Escape

The Ford Escape is a compact crossover SUV that originally debuted in 2001. As your Ford dealer in Torrington, CT, we want to introduce you to the 2024 Ford Escape and take a dive into some of its outstanding features.

The 2024 Escape is offered in six trim levels: Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, Platinum, and Plug-In Hybrid.

Engine, Powertrain, and Transmission

There are several options available for each time level except the Active. The Active is powered by a 1.5L EcoBoost engine with auto stop-start. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. FWD is standard with this trim, but you can choose an all-wheel drive with AWD Disconnect.

The Plug-In Hybrid is offered with a plug-in hybrid 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-Cycle I-4 engine, an eCVT hybrid/plug-in hybrid transmission, and an FWD drivetrain. The ST-Line has the same engine, transmission, and drivetrain options as the Active, with an optional sports handling suspension/tuning drive train. You also choose a hybrid option with a 2.5 iVCT Atkinson-Cycle I-4 with eCVT hybrid/plug-in hybrid transmission.

The ST-Line Select and ST-Line Elite offer 2.0L EcoBoost engines with 8-speed transmissions and AWD. Hybrid options are identical to the ST-Line. The Platinum trim offers the same engines, transmission, and drivetrain options, but doesn’t feature a sports handling suspension/tuning option.

Infotainment

The Active, ST-Line, and ST-Line Select have a standard 8″ LCD touchscreen, with the option to upgrade to a 13.2″ LCD touchscreen. The 13.2″ touchscreen is standard on the ST-Line Elite, Platinum, and Plug-In Hybrid. An 8″ color LCD instrument cluster is standard on the first three trim levels, with an optional 12.3″ full digital instrument cluster. The 12.3″ digital cluster is standard on the upper three trim levels.

All trim levels feature a six-speaker AM/FM stereo system, with the option to upgrade to a B&O ten-speaker sound system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless connections are standard, as is Sirius XM and dual-zone automatic temperature control.

Safety Features

All trim levels contain a host of important safety features, including lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic braking, adaptive cruise control, and collision assist with automatic emergency braking. Additional safety options include a 360-degree read camera, evasive steering assist, and rear parking sensors.
